Great Tips for Surviving Disney during Thanksgiving

thanksgiving at Disney

November is usually a pretty quiet time at Disney World Orlando, except for Thanksgiving week! Your kids are out of school, it’s a family holiday, so you’re thinking that planning a holiday at Disney World resorts for Thanksgiving is a great idea! Well, many other families have had the exact same idea and the parks quickly crowd up during that week.

If you don’t want your happy family time to turn into a real nightmare, here are a few survival tips for your thanksgiving trip to Disney World:

  • Arrive early: Thanksgiving week is one of the busiest time of the year for Disney, so make sure you arrive at the gate at least one hour early so you can enjoy the rides and entertainment before the crowd moves in! If you’ve never been to Disney, this will allow you to get a great feel of the place and feel more comfortable with your kids being over excited for their first Disney experience too!
  • Pick your park wisely: depending on entertainment, parks might get busier than others on different days. Try to stay alert on which day to chose a park to avoid the biggest crowds. Avoid park hoping as this will make your life hell, especially if a park gets to capacity.
  • Plan ahead: this is especially true during busy times at Disney World! The parks are huge, the entertainments, rides and shows plentiful and you can quickly end up dispersing yourself and not achieve anything. What is your (or your family’s) priority? Rides, parades, shows? Make sure you make a plan of what you absolutely want to do before you get to Disney World and stick to it once you’re in there!!
  • Dine outside meals times: restaurants during Thanksgiving week will be extra crowded and waiting times extra long! If you avoid usual meal times, you can cut your waiting time by quite a lot! Make sure you eat a big breakfast as to be able to have a late lunch, or even better, pack your lunch if you can!
  • Rent a stroller: long crowded days at Disney can be extremely tiring for the little ones! Make sure you rent a stroller from Magical Stroller Rentals as you will get a better value than with Disney strollers. Whether you are staying in the park or outside, you won’t need to give your stroller back until the end of your stay!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Returns!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

The most enjoyable spooky time of the year has come around again at Disney World resorts! If you are travelling to Disney World this September or in October, then make sure you do not miss the famous Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! Unlike it’s counterpart in Universal Studio, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is meant to enchant rather than spook and is a real treat for the whole family.

This year, Disney has increased the number of nights where you can attend the magical party to 32 nights instead of 29 last year! You will be able to enjoy the park to yourself (with other ticket holders) from 7pm and enjoy the Disney Halloween magic.
Meet and greet special Disney characters, go trick or treat with your favorite Disney heroes, and put on your favorite costume to join in with the Halloween fun (be sure to review Disney’s guidelines for accepted costumes first)! This year’s “Boo to You” Parade will make you skin tingle and your heart warm as the family of the Haunted Mansion parades through Magic Kingdom!

Tickets are already on sale and we recommend you book them as early as possible as those run out quite fast! If you want to avoid crowds of Halloween day and spend $100 on a ticket, plan to join the Halloween party before Halloween as September is quieter and cheaper!

A whole day and evening in the park can be tiring for the little ones, so make sure you hire a stroller from Magical Stroller Rentals to maximize your time and enjoyment in the park!!

Disney World Just Got More Fun With New Wine Slushies!!

New Wine Slushies from Disney Spring

Who said Disney World was only fun for children?! A recent announcement by the Disney’s restaurant Amorette’s Patisserie located in Disney Springs is going to make your trip to Disney World a whole lot more fun!! Disney’s restaurant is now serving strawberry wine slushies!

It is a fact that Florida’s sun can be very difficult to endure during hot clear days and if you add the humid heat to the crowds that you have to maneuver through during the day, you’d certainly feel like a chilled refreshing drink and a glass of wine would help sooth your day! Well, Disney is known as the place where wishes come true and they take it seriously. Disney has indeed heard the wishes of thousands of mom’s (and all legal adults) visiting the parks every day and has decided to make it a bit more fun for them too.

The slushies are more of a wine cocktail than just chilled wine as you will be able to get a strawberry wine slushie (with red wine) or a mango slushie (with white wine)! These refreshing and tasty drink will lighten your day before you start queuing for a popular attraction. Each slushie costs $8, which isn’t so bad when you’re roasting under the sun!

This is obviously an adult-only drink to be consumed within reason!!
