Great Tips for Surviving Disney during Thanksgiving

thanksgiving at Disney

November is usually a pretty quiet time at Disney World Orlando, except for Thanksgiving week! Your kids are out of school, it’s a family holiday, so you’re thinking that planning a holiday at Disney World resorts for Thanksgiving is a great idea! Well, many other families have had the exact same idea and the parks quickly crowd up during that week.

If you don’t want your happy family time to turn into a real nightmare, here are a few survival tips for your thanksgiving trip to Disney World:

  • Arrive early: Thanksgiving week is one of the busiest time of the year for Disney, so make sure you arrive at the gate at least one hour early so you can enjoy the rides and entertainment before the crowd moves in! If you’ve never been to Disney, this will allow you to get a great feel of the place and feel more comfortable with your kids being over excited for their first Disney experience too!
  • Pick your park wisely: depending on entertainment, parks might get busier than others on different days. Try to stay alert on which day to chose a park to avoid the biggest crowds. Avoid park hoping as this will make your life hell, especially if a park gets to capacity.
  • Plan ahead: this is especially true during busy times at Disney World! The parks are huge, the entertainments, rides and shows plentiful and you can quickly end up dispersing yourself and not achieve anything. What is your (or your family’s) priority? Rides, parades, shows? Make sure you make a plan of what you absolutely want to do before you get to Disney World and stick to it once you’re in there!!
  • Dine outside meals times: restaurants during Thanksgiving week will be extra crowded and waiting times extra long! If you avoid usual meal times, you can cut your waiting time by quite a lot! Make sure you eat a big breakfast as to be able to have a late lunch, or even better, pack your lunch if you can!
  • Rent a stroller: long crowded days at Disney can be extremely tiring for the little ones! Make sure you rent a stroller from Magical Stroller Rentals as you will get a better value than with Disney strollers. Whether you are staying in the park or outside, you won’t need to give your stroller back until the end of your stay!

New Wine Slushies from Disney Spring

Who said Disney World was only fun for children?! A recent announcement by the Disney’s restaurant Amorette’s Patisserie located in Disney Springs is going to make your trip to Disney World a whole lot more fun!! Disney’s restaurant is now serving strawberry wine slushies!

It is a fact that Florida’s sun can be very difficult to endure during hot clear days and if you add the humid heat to the crowds that you have to maneuver through during the day, you’d certainly feel like a chilled refreshing drink and a glass of wine would help sooth your day! Well, Disney is known as the place where wishes come true and they take it seriously. Disney has indeed heard the wishes of thousands of mom’s (and all legal adults) visiting the parks every day and has decided to make it a bit more fun for them too.

The slushies are more of a wine cocktail than just chilled wine as you will be able to get a strawberry wine slushie (with red wine) or a mango slushie (with white wine)! These refreshing and tasty drink will lighten your day before you start queuing for a popular attraction. Each slushie costs $8, which isn’t so bad when you’re roasting under the sun!

This is obviously an adult-only drink to be consumed within reason!!

Epcot Space restaurant D23 Expo

Disney World recently announced that the famous theme park will undergo a bunch of upgrades as part of its 35th anniversary! Disney came up with a new visionary dining concept for guests, sending them out of this world for a dinner under the stars.
Epcot restaurants are famous for being completely original and immersing guests into different culinary worlds, but this one will literally send them into space! The new restaurant will be established next to the “Mission Space” attraction, a NASA-style simulator, which will re-open next summer.

3 Great Tips to Make Your Disney Experience Successful with Kids

Family Stroller
Going on vacation to Disney World is a dream for your children, which can quickly turn into a stressful experience for parents! However, there are a few things you can do to make your life easier and your children’s experience happy and unforgettable!

  • Planning is the key.

Even if you are not a vey big planner, going to Disney with small children requires some upfront planning. Disney has tried to make it as easy as possible for you to plan your vacation ahead with a great application: My Disney Experience App, which can be installed on your smartphone or viewed directly on your computer.
My Disney Experience App enables you to explore the parks by showing you GPS-enabled maps, find Disney characters’ greeting time and place; plan your vacation by allowing you to buy tickets, make dining reservations, or buy your FastPasses for example. You can keep track of all your reservations and activities with this application.

  • When to go?

Avoid big holidays like Christmas and summer breaks as these periods are likely to bring big crowds, and long waits for rides. Going to Disney during the Fall (September to November) or during Spring (March to May) allows you to enjoy a beautiful weather while avoiding large crowds! This means you will be able to make the most out of your time in the park with your children.

  • Rent a stroller!

If you are traveling with small children, you have to bear in mind that the walks can be long within Disney parks and to and from your hotel. This might become stressful and tiresome for your children, and also for you especially if you want to carry a bag with all your children’s necessities during the day. Renting a stroller will make your life easier! You can rent a stroller from Disney itself, rental locations can be found in each park. However, Disney does not allow strollers to be taken out of its original park. This means you will have to ask for a replacement each time you switch parks, and you will not be able to take it back to your hotel.
Magical Stroller Rentals is a great alternative to renting a stroller from Disney. It offers better prices than Disney rentals, and the stroller will be yours for the whole duration of your stay at Disney World. No switching, replacing, or walking to and from your hotel. Magical Stroller Rental also offers a wide selection of single and double strollers with lots of adds-on, such as rain covers and even coolers.
